Default crashed the vette

My GF/co driver went 4 off last weekend and took on a curb and 5 cemented in bike posts... the damage was

front bumper
front right fender
passenger door
passenger rocker
passenger wheels (mock zr1 18x9.5 and 19x10 gloss black)
passenger upper control arm
passenger shock
radiator subframe
intercooler piping off of A&A kit (pipe from S/C to Blow off and pipe from blow off to intercooler)
also broke front right rotor.

what ive come up with since sunday

I can buff the door out
I got the sub frame, front shocks, control arm with spindle and bearing out of a parts car for 225 all with 40k on it.
not worried about the body panels for now, I can just zip tie stitch it together to get it back on the road and finish the season (we were both in first for the season in our respective classes.)

A&A wants over 225 for the pipes and i dont know what to do about the wheels. the rear passenger is structurally junk the front passenger is cosmetically junk. so im thinking maybe i should pick up some stock c6 wheels and move my tires over? or just buy the new rear wheel (comparable to a whole set of base c6 wheels) also anyone have a suggestion for budget front brakes (rotors and pads?) I was thinking about the summit racing rotors because theyre so cheap but what about pads?

because it was at the race track i cant turn it into insurance and im not the kind of person to try and fraud it. so im trying really hard to get it back and going out of pocket which is really hard. I realize admitting what happens opens me up to a lot of joking and what not. but I would appreciate just some help or constructive suggestions at this point. Especially if everyone knew the entire story. the track layout was entirely unsafe and we were the first high hp car of the day and it exposed a dangerous spot that cars with half the power and half the speed barely cleared the finish but we didn't know that till after the crash. at the end of the day like i told her its just a car and we're both okay just sore. its part of racing, ive been working on teaching her racing all season (this is her first year) and she hasnt lost a class shes entered yet, improving every week, it is what it is. thanks guys

and heres pictures so i dont get crucified for not posting. lol https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=7af7a4a8e4

Its part of racing,,, no one should give you a hard time about it.

The main thing is your ok,,,,, cars can be replaced/fixed.

I wonder if there is any recourse with the track due to a bad setup?

dude that response is such a breathe of fresh air. the majority of the people in the racing community came together and were great people. the track refunded out money for entry fees and apologized then changed things to slow that area down but that's the extent of what they would do. I emailed the wheel company and A&A to see if they could do anything even like a break on shipping cause its going to come down to the pennys getting it back together.

I'd do what it takes to get it back out there. Pick up some used wheels for cheap. You can always re-sell them if you go with new wheels again. Im sure you can get on e-bay and find used stock brakes for a good price. Hunt around for parts. I wouldn't worry about new or flashy at this point.

I like the attitude. Get it back together and keep going. You're having fun, or at least were, right?

An exhaust shop might be able to put together some steel pipes for cheap?

Try contacting Corvette recyclers for the wheels. They get cars with cosmetically damaged wheels which won't sell at the "premium" prices. Try the member Marc@Vettenuts.net here. Great guy to deal with.

Also, search Ebay and you'll find a new 19x10 -79mm replica C6 wheel for $100 with free shipping. Probably cheaper than you'll get anywhere else unless a member here has something for you.

Rockauto, Tire Rack and I'm sure a host of other places have rotors for <$50 each. Can you re-use the pads you have?

Anytime,,,,, it cracks me up when the " oh so perfect " people jump on the bandwagon and bash someone for making a mistake,,,,,actually it pisses me off!!!

And this wasn't your mistake,,,,it was the setup !!

Good luck getting it back on the road again
