The wire going to the light was shoved under the radiator brace and forgotten by some auto body. I painfully removed it and connected back, with dielectric grease. Checked all the fuses and they're fine. Checked the connector and it has ground but no power.
So at this point I'm assuming there's a bad fusible link somewhere. Does this exist in the C5 for the hood light, and where is it?
Yea all those work for fuse #2. I just want it working cause I hate having broken things. Usually brings more broken things. I tested wire with a tester light, and the ground works but there's no positive power. In fact both are working as a ground.
the cover for my hood light broke off, stupid little plastic tabs. They are on ebay for $35! Ridiculous, so Ive just left it for now. I'm considering doing something cool with it instead but have yet to come up with an idea
Discovered the problem. The positive wire going to the connector just pulled out. Literally with no force what so ever. Tested a good 12v going to it, so I just need a new connector.
Anyone happen to know the part number for it? It's for the car end, not the hood end.
EDIT
Think I found the connector. It's called the PT786 with a part #12167120. Will confirm once it arrives.
EDIT AGAIN
Yep it fits. Got a working hood light now.
