You could use some HD Velcro. When I installed mine I did not have rivets so I used a short stainless Phillips screw with silicone on it. You don't want to screw through the hood. Mine has been on for over five years.

Mystery battery drain due to hood light rivet failure
Recently I had a complete battery drain problem on my 04. I noticed that the hood light bracket rivets had failed and the hood light was hanging down from its wiring. Apparently the dangle angle was just right and the mercury switch that activates the hood light was keeping this light on and draining my battery.
Solution was two new rivets and a little dab of silicone sealant as an extra safety measure.

I couldn't find my riviter so I just wound up using some outdoor grade double sided foam. So far so good :-) I almost wonder if I also had the hood light staying on issue...
