Where is the pivot mount located on our headlights?
I was in an accident a few weeks ago and when I went to the dealer to get an estimate he said the pivot mount on the headlight was broken, which added another $500+ just for the cost of the part. I figured it would be something easy to spot if was broken so I didn't ask about it at the time, but I can't see anything broken on it.
I've only had my Corvette for a month now but I have had the headlight assembly apart several times already. All I can tell you is that there are two "shoulder" bolts on the top, right under the painted "lids." I understand that you cannot purchase these individually and must get a new headlight assembly if one is damaged, and they are easily damaged (have a plastic collar). That could be the $500 cost. Fortunately, a few forum venders sell the bolts individually if you need it.
The other connection is a "rod" that connects to the headlight motor and connects to the lower portion of the headlight assembly using a pin and retaining "collar" washer. I think if anything was damaged in that assembly that you would certainly need the whole headlight.
I'm sure I didn't use the proper terms for everything but hopefully some help was given. There should be some good photos around in the projector headlight install threads.
Headlights pivot on 3 bolts. You need to remove the headlight cover to inspect the top two. They're $10 each. You need to remove those two toinspect the bottom one. Vettenuts.net has decent prices on headlight pieces as well as jwm motoring

It wasn't the bolts that broke, it was the pivot mount frame itself. The motor was also damaged so the entire headlight assembly will have to be replaced. I won't be paying for it, the insurance company of the person that hit me will so I will be requesting new parts, not used.
