At idle the VARARAM has zero effect.. That being said, look for air leaks between the throttle body and the MAF. It has to be sealed and can NOT allow ant UN-METERED air in. Also,, look for any other vacuum leaks.
Everything is tight--the engine is running at 210deg. come to a stop--rpm goes to 825 than just for a split second to 950 rpm and right back to 825--I have read long time ago about others doing this--should it stay at 825?
Did you try the idle re-learn procedure? I forget the details but a search here will tell you how to do it, if you haven't already.
Yes I did--I really think it has to do with vararam--putting air into the motor--when you come to a stop any air intake is still taking air in--anyway the Z runs strong--no surging or bucking-I can live with the 200 rpm increase for a split of a second when I stop
None of the above ideas will work, as it's a tuning issue. I had the same problem, which is called "hanging idle", and it's a specific table. Check the tuning section, or find a good tuner. Basically your computer doesn't allow your car to idle down until you come to a COMPLETE stop. Try rolling up slowly, and see if your idle stays high until you brake to a stop. There's a tuning table for this exact issue, which you almost always get after installing a cam.
