With the press/tap of the "down" bottom, window goes down all the way. Say if I wanted it to be open half way, I have to press the "down" botton again for it to stop going down.

Hold the window switch near the center and not at the bottom where the "auto" word is. Mine works that way. The other way is hit the window like you do and hit the up side of the switch when you want the window to stop. Hope this works for you.
