Default Traction control

Generally, how hard does (should) the traction control kick in?

I’m still getting used to it, and have not had the opportunity to meet up with any local enthusiasts yet. Twice now, its stopped the wheels from breaking traction when I was making a hard turn from a stop while accelerating harder than normal. Either it kicks in really hard or I have some other issues going on. Once was leaving a parking lot after work when the car was cold, once was after it was at operating temp.

Prerequisite info:
It doesn’t seem to kick in during straight line acceleration. Very minimal tire squeak.
Clutch doesn’t feel like its slipping.
Nothing skips, pops, or stutters during tight turns at low speeds
Nice and smooth on sweepers.
No idiot lights or messages yelling at me.

I already know that some of the issue is the operator, but when it kicked in it felt like it hit the rev limiter, completely stopped power for a quarter second, then bucked like a pissed off girlfriend when… (self edit). It was very invasive to what I was trying to do. Was not at full throttle. Feel free to tell me that I just suck at driving, so far that’s my hypothesis.

Think it's explained in the Owners Manual.

Thanks for the replies, but I think that my question is misunderstood. I have no intention of losing traction, and am glad that the car knows how to keep it from happening better than my right foot does.

I just don’t know if it should be as hard as it feels like it is. Other cars I’ve driven with TC just hold RPM or slightly reduce it until the WSS tells the system that the slipping wheel(s) are moving at the same speed as the other ones. It feels like mine is just chopping the power entirely for a quarter second.

I can deal with it if that’s just the way it is. I want to know if I should check have the rear end, or…

Yes, it allows some wheel spin and then it gets agressive and really cuts the power.
