I have a 1999 corvette with a LS1 it has headers and a full 3.5 inch after market exhaust system. My check engine light keeps coming on and it showing codes for the oxygen sensors. The car runs well, does any one know about this type of problem? Thanks.
Why would you believe that it is NOT caused by bad O2 sensor(s)? I mean if that is what the DIC codes are telling you, right? Why don't you just change them then? They are fairly cheap and easy to change out.
Actually, I think O2 sensors should be changed out periodically as part of a good preventive maintenance program. Keep in mind that O2 sensors become slow and lazy with time and mileage.

What is the code, front or rear? Did it just start or did it start when you did the exhaust?
What are your actuall codes?? There are a few different codes for O2 sensors. Do you still have the two rear O2's installed? If not were they tuned out? Sometimes with headers installed you'll get codes for the heaters in the O2 sensors. The O2 sensors in the headers are usually further downstream than they are in the stock system. This can give you a lazy O2 sensor. Some people have taken the rear O2's out and plug them into the forward position on the headers and harness because they heat quicker than the front O2's. I believe you may need a wiring harness adapter to do this.
You really need to post all the codes that you're getting for anyone to actually offer some help.
Sensor 1 or sensor 2 ? Bank 1 or Bank 2 ? Insufficient activity? There's lots of possible scenarios that's why we need the codes.
