I HAVE LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING ON A FEW OCCASIONS THEN I HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THE CAR WILL START UP AGAIN. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS ISSUE. ALSO IT HAS LOST POWER ON ME ONCE WHEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON INTO A TURN.
when you say all power you mean Headlights, interior lights, brake lights, everything?
Start by checking for a bad ground. check all battery terminals (+ and - for bad connector) then start checking grounds (main battery and all). I have seen side post terminals pull out of the battery and cause a bad connection so check the battery as well.
if it doesnt have proper power the Trac Control will fail opperation as well.. power issue and TC are all related. If everything is connected well might want to have the battery tested.. could be a internal issue in the battery.
When you have the issue, does ANYTHING still function electrically? Lights, windows, ect....
If you grab the battery cables, can you move EITHER battery connection by hand??? If they move easily, thats most likely your issue. If they are tight:
Start with the battery. Remove it and have it fully Tested.
While you have it out, use a small stainless steel wire brush and clean the battery cable terminals. Flush them out with brake parts cleaner.
When you reinstall the battery terminals, TORQUE the terminals to 11 FOOT POUNDS for proper connection.
The ground terminal has two wires. A large wire that goes to the engine block and a small wire that grounds the chassis. Follow those wires and MAKE SURE that the bolt that secures the wires to the block is tight and the chassis is clean and tight.
