Default Which Cam

Trying to decide?

.235/.243 at .620/.623 on a 112 lob or
.227/.243 at .613/.623 on a 113 lob

Do not care about driveablility. Looking for overall power gain. N/A Z06. Valve job now with long tubes and all the other bolt ons. Heads are coming in a few months. Plan on going ls3.

i have 227/243 with 114 LSA with 5 degrees advanced ground in it......on my stock bottom end with A&A Sc kit.....love this cam even better than 224/230 114 LSA i had before (both cams on same engine AA SC kit).

227/243 has a strong choppy idle shakes the car otherwise both cam performed outstanding power all over, however i noticed one plus advantage with 227/243.....is mid range power very strong compared to 224/230 i had, merging HWY from ramp is a lot easier now than before i can reach from 60 mph - 100 mph within no time assuming no traffic, than i had to slow down to 75-85.

Only bad part is choppy idle with 227/243 in night time is very noticeable and my nieghbors complaint.

Go with 227/243 if you going SC down the road, otherwise get 235/243 with 115 LSA and 4 degrees advance if you staying NA with LS3....LS3 is another bad azz motor. This will be a 10 sec car guaranteed on a good day. GL and go with 235/243 115 LSA you will be much happy.

Edit: in heavy traffic bumper to bumper car lugs with 227/243 cam, i did not have that with 224/230.....just sayin

Good rule of thumb that I've noticed on the blower cars is that if it makes good power N/A, it's going to make more with a blower or nitrous.

Different story for a turbo car.

Of the two cams you posted the first one is probably going to make more peak power.

If you want a max HP gain and don't mind a slight (I mean very slight you won't probably notice a difference) and want to add boost later. I have a great cam for sale for you. 290 bucks shipped in the main u.s.
