Default What functions does the clutch safety switch do

I know it starts the car but does it turn on the fuel pumps also?

fuel pumps should be activated with the ignition switch. Clutch switch should only allow you to start the car and deactivate the Cruise control if set. (im sure it does other things but nothing to do with the fuel pump)

Thx.--do you think it has anything to do with pressurizing the injectors - before the car starts?

No. It's main function is to make sure you can't start the car in gear, and immediately ram something. Kicking off the cruise control is it's secondary function, no more, no less..........

The CLUTCH SAFETY SWITCHs ONLY functuin is to make sure that the clutch is fully depressed during cranking the engine. Its a TWO WIRE switch on the fire wall and disables the power to the Theft Deterrent Relay operating coil.

The Cruise Control switch is on a bracket and contacts the clutch peddle arm when the clutch is fully RELEASED. If you put your foot on the clutch peddle, sometimes its enough to disengage the cruise.
