Ok think this is in the correct place. LOL

Well I picked up a 03 vert. It is my 1st GM car. Now I have spent hours reading this forum. (lot of info and nice forum). Now only had the car a few weeks. 2nd tank of fuel. Now I know the car spark knock with fuel in it. (1st tank) So the next time I filled it up with the good stuff. Now not know the service of the car I put fuel cleaner in it. Got new filter to go on it also.

Now the part that I need to figure. I read all this about the cars get out of control spinning tires and all. 6 speed in 1st this car at 20 will just take off no tire slip at all. (Good to a Point). Now I have had Mustangs and Lightings in the past that would get wild with the stock tires. The C5 just takes off pulls hard in the high RPMs and feels strong on the big end.

Now is this normal for the C5 or is it down on power. I know that it has a fuel smell like the car is rich at idle. I know that after the fuel cleaner the number 1&2 back O2 light came on twice. Clear it and it stay off.

Is there a way to check the throttle to see if it is opening all the way. Do any of you know a turner in the Savannah Ga / Jax Fl

I got one and read it when need be. I have fooled around with it both ways. No big deal with it one way or other. I have did my time with the hot rods in the past. (top sportsman and top dragster) Just found it odd that it does not slip a tire at all. Then the fuel smell also with the 02 code. Figured I could ask.

Thanks I will get with him. Always played around with this stuff and looking to do a little with this one. Just need to find the starting point of what it is doing.

Are you sure the car has the stock camshaft? If it's cammed, that would account for the smell.

Well it has a few odd signs. From my old school days it has the big cam sign all top end no low end. Then it has the timing has been pulled low so has all top end. Then the thing got me is the fuel smell. Just real fat loading up until get the higher RPM to burn fuel.

Now I did pull battery cable off to clean after reading about the ground problems. It had a newer battery in it. It got the fuel smell worse. Anyone know how long it takes for computer to rest.
