Blower might be down the road for me do to funding but sounds like it would be awsome.
I will definitely send a msg when I head up to ABQ! Always good to meet the members!
Thanks for the info. Everyone had a great response.
Best
It will be one day for you I will bet money on that . Also look at the FS section here people are always upgrading or swapping stuff out always good deal there.
If your ever in Abq or Rio Rancho hit me up we can go for a ride. if I could do it all over that is what I would of done first.
If you compare to bolt-ons you're at about $2k for 40hp vs $6k for 200hp. It really is the cheapest cost per HP. But then you're into a clutch and drivetrain upgrades too.
my 98 6spd has a k&n cai and b&b bullets it dynode 321 rwhp without a tune. with a 6 spd you typically lose 10% from the engine to the wheels I have seen a lot of stock c5's go over 300 to the wheels seen a stock 02 z06 this past Saturday with 21000 miles go 389 at the wheels so it is possible

I'll do that...was checking some out earlier. Looks like most of the parts move fast too.

I'll take the 40hp option at 2k for now ... No surprise that I'm still enjoying the stock power these things have. Fastest car I've ever had so far. Definitely fun to drive and admire. I'm sure after a year maybe I'll be itching for more horses
Some easy suggestions... After things like Fluid flushes, Plugs (OEM), Wires (GM Performance "GMPP"), Tires. Here are a few things i would suggest
Cold Air intake:
* Haltech, Callaway Honker, Blackwing (open Filter)
Intake Manifold (IF older the 2001)
* 2001+ LS1/LS6 intake manifold (as Bill suggested)will gain power and easy to install.
Exhaust:
* 01-04 Z06 Mufflers (good deep sound, support 400+hp but quieter for Convertable)
* Corsa (your choice on what style.. smooth can clean)
* C6Z06 LS7 exhaust manifolds... (20-25hp gain on my 04Z06) can be found for $350'ish +gaskets online.
Tune:
* ECS Mail order or Chuck COW
* Custom Tune after parts install (~$450 average cost with dyno, If you wanna come up to Denver I would suggest Clint at American Intense Racing "AIR")
I dont doubt he saw a dyno showing thoes numbers, I would say that the opperator has it setup to be Very generous. Stock 02-04 Z06's will put down 355-365 if the correction factors are setup correctly. My 04Z with LS7 exhaust, CAI and a tune did 383whp 358wtq. now it might read slightly higher on a hub dyno rather then a roller dyno (no slipage). its easy to manipulate the numbers.. important thing is what gains are made with mods on the same dyno.

No way! A dyno is a measuring tool and I've seen numbers all over the place. I've seen 280rwhp to 350 rwhp on stock LS1 Corvettes. Crazy Too many variables.. Yes it depends on the dyno and how the tech has correction factors put in.. Uncorrected numbers are going to show different numbers than corrected numbers, depending on the Density Altitude, and temps, the numbers can have quite a large variance.... So yes, 389 rwhp is believable on a skewed dyno(uncorrected numbers on a cold day ), on a stock 02 Z06.. Does the engine really make 389rwhp? No way!

YES, there IS intelligent life on EARTH!
You're right. Too many people get lost in DYNO numbers....That are usually WRONG.
It has it's place and YES I use one..... But not for everything.
As long as you use it for information... (or traction) it's a useful tool.
