Default Accidentally used Mobil 1 10w-30

My friend was helping me change my oil today and he put in 10w-30 instead of 5w-30. I'm thinking of draining the 10w-30 and putting in 5w-30. I read somewhere that 10W gives you a bit more cold engine wear than 5W. It's starting to get colder now but it never snows where I live in Sacramento, CA. Do I have anything to worry about?

It's ok, you can swing viscosities a good bit and be fine. 5w30/10w30, doubt your engine could tell the difference.

I have used Mobil 1 10W30 since brand new. 99 6mm coupe now at 147,000 miles and changed once a year. Runs like a stripped *** Ape ! Burns 1QT at 8000 miles.
Go 4 it !

Sorry, I have to disagree with everyone above. The car is in fact ruined and probably won't even start now (I would recommend not even trying to start it to prevent additional damage). I will buy it from you and probably have to part it out. Sorry that happened.....

Naaahh, just kidding. You are good to go and have nothing to worry about (especially where you live). It is good to see that you care enough about your car to ask the question. Best of luck and keep charging! -Glenn

I use Mobil 1 10w-30 Hi-mileage. I have 40,000 miles. I use it in my SRX too with 65,000 miles
