Default Trans cooler install questions

Have a few questions before I tackle the install of the trans cooler on an A4

1) which line leading into the radiator is the return line?

2) do you add fluid to the cooler before install or would it be better to add fluid from the trans fill point?

If any of you have done an install, just a general step by step would be great.

Your help is much appreciated,

Donny

I did an install and it was quite easy, I would strongly suggest using all AN fittings and use a good cooler. Fill from the tranny as you will have to do this anyway since you will be disconnecting the cooler lines, and I don't believe it matters which line is which(assuming you are using just the cooler, instead of the radiator and cooler) that is how I did mine! Biggest this is to use good fitting and not just trying to flare the fittings and using rubber hose as these will be under a good amount of pressure

Thanks for the reply, I figured I would have to fill from the tranny but just wanted to double check. I will actually be running the cooler after the radiator, that's why I was trying to find out which is the return line as the flow path will be radiator>Line out (return line)>trans cooler>line out to transmission.
