Who do you all recommend I send my computer to for a flash tune? I know that a dyno and road tune is the ideal way to tune the car; however, that option is not available to me at this time. Basically I have a catless head pipe, Corsa mid and axle back exhaust, and a Vararam CAI. I basically want the stock tune optimized, and the rear O2 sensors turned off. I'm sure there are a few HP to be had with these mods and a flash, and I'm certain most tuners have an optimized tune that works after this many years of these cars being on the road. The only tuners I've read anything about is ECS supercharging.
I don't have his number right now, just check out the forced induction section, he hangs out there a lot, just shoot him a pm and hell take care of you
My computer went out yesterday USPS Priority, for a 2002 Z06 6 speed, 3.42 gear, Vararam CAI, off road head pipes, Corsa mid and axle back exhaust, Halltech honeycomb in MAF, 160º thermo (please send on with computer), lower the fan temps (gets real hot here in Kansas), turn off "service column lock" max mph (have CLB in there now), raise top speed gov to 255 mph, turn off rear O2's, typically run 91 octane that contains ethenol, but can sometimes get pure 92 octane, seems to be fat in the upper RPM range at WOT, turn on shift light at redline, has tip-in/cruise stumble at low TPS, overall just want to clean up the A/F ratio across the board and timing. Get aggressive with fuel and timing tables, but also leave the knock sensors ability to pull timing as aggressive as well.
I'm looking forward to getting this back, from what I've read, I should be happy for now until I build a high compression 383.
If nothing else good comes from my tune from ESC, I hope that they can get it corrected so that the motor pulls hard in all gears till redline. Seems like the OE falls flat after mid RPM or so. I also have a hesitation when rolling along at minimal throttle in town. Get into the gas just a fuzz more and it goes away....anyone else experience this? Currently I have the Halltech honeycomb MAF insert. The previous owner said that the car was throwing codes when he put the Vararam CAI on, and the Halltech fixed the problem. What's up with that? Anyone know what the larger MAF screen does to fix anything????
What all is seriously not "right" with the stock tune that ESC is able to fix, that makes all of you feel as though your car runs so much better? I understand that GM has to tune the cars for emissions and whatnot, where is that stock tune lacking so bad?
