Not sure if it is common but when I start my high mileage 1998 c5 I can smell a hint of gas. Not crazy but defintaly noticable, its like beeing at a drag strip. I just changed the plugs wires pcv valve hoses air filter and synthetic oil, but its still there is this normal, can you smell fuel on your c5. No leaks and gets good gas mileage here. Please help.
Hi all,
gorby, I've had the same issue with my '97. I've had it checked over and over and there are absolutely no leaks at all. My friend owns a shop and I've had him scour the car for ANY sign of a leak and nuthin! I usually get this smell when it is very hot here in Vegas, so I don't know what the deal is, but I have no leaks either. Check all your connectors along the fuel lines and at the filter. If you figure it out, let me know!
