Default Any ideas?

2001 z06--after driving and motor warmed up--car sits for about 45 minutes--start it up and it a loud whooshing sound that seems to be going around the intake --lasts for about 45 seconds or so and than instantly shuts off-like a switch was turned off-Dealer says its the air injection pump--the computer demands the pump to turn on--I don't hear anything on a cold start-up-Why would it be so loud?-NO codes

There are rubber and metal hoses along with check valves. They start under drivers side headlight and then go below the master cylinder. Then from there it connects to exhaust manifold and also goes behind the head/intake manifold to the passengers side and then connects to exhaust manifold over there. Look it over and see if hose has rotted out or something is disconnected.

I have checked everything in place and tight--it doesn't do it all the time after its warmed up--maybe 2-3 times every 10-15 warm start-ups--car runs great and no codes--you can hear with the hood closed--like a sucking-whoohsing air sound--it shuts off instantly like something is controlling it-when you rev it up the sound doesn't change--that tells me its not a pully-belt ect.--it almost has to be the air injection pump--blowing a ton of air?

Not possible, the pump isn't that strong. You would also have a service light and codes.

I have no idea what it is--it only happens once in a while and is controlled by the way it just shuts off-

Started the car up after a drive--heard the same noise--pulled the #33 air injection fuse--NO noise--Mechanic at chevy dealer said--the computer turns it on at random and what im hearing is normal--I don't know why its so loud-
