I found a leak into the BPMV on my 2000 C5 FRC. There is some sort of pressure relief device? between one of the lines from the proportioning valve and the BPMV. Spent the day at the GM dealer, he tried to locate the part, but none of the parts schematics show it! Tried to show it with the red oval in the pic attached. If anyone has any idea where to find one of these, I would appreciate it. For now, there is a small hole to the outside, I plugged it with a large piece of wire and JB Weld (not the best approach I know).
Bought the car new, have not added anything t that area of the brake system and never had any work done on the brake system by anyone other than myself! Tried to bypass the part by connecting the line directly to the BPMV, but could not get it to reach! The part has an internal portion, sort of a bypass short line with two holes in it on opposite sides about 1/2 inch apart. There is a rubber diaphragm inside the block portion and it has two O-Rings, one on each side. It HAD to come from GM this way. Looking for a new line about an inch and a half longer on the BPMV side to just do away with it!
It is a 2000 FRC, bought in November 1999 from a local Chevy dealer in California, as I understand it, the FRC came standard with a lot of the "performance" parts such as the axle ratio, stiffer springs, larger anti sway bars etc. could post the RPOs if that would help.
