Due to the failure rate of C5 stock crank pulleys, replacing it with a quality piece is never a "bad" thing to do. And a 25% underdrive also comes with another advantage in that it free's up a few HP.
FWIW, I have a C5 Powerbond pulley for sale if your interested, with low mileage.
Had a PB 25% UD pulley, and it was great. No loss of charging, and no worries about pulley separating. With my SC install, I now use a PB standard size pulley.
Almost everything that I have read show the 25% underdrive pulley works, but I have read a few that had problems. I didn't want to try it even though there may be a few free HP. I can use my same belt, and the standard was less expensive.
I have a Powerbond 25% under drive on my FRC and I had a Powerbond 25% under drive on my WS6 before I sold it as well. Both cars were full bolt-on cars that ranged from 345rwhp-355rwhp. None of my lights ever flickered, voltage always stayed the same, AC has stayed the same, steering has remained the same, etc. The only "feelable" difference was throttle response (which is why I bought one, I like "snappier" throttles".) That said, my cars still have/had factory cams and whatnot in them so I didn't experience the harmonics that a build motor would have. A friend of mine has a cammed Z06 with a 25% under drive and he hasn't experienced any downsides either. If I was doing cam and/or heads I'd probably stay with a factory sized ATI or Powerbond.
Lookin to add hp to the car with bolt PMs and such.
Headers are probably more of a satisfying first mod, if you haven't already got them. Unless you're wanting to replace the factory HB with a better one anyway. The HP gain of a pulley is minimal.
