Default Improved Z51 Shocks

I'm interested in smoothing out the ride on my 2000 Z51 due to terrible road conditions. I actually lose traction in tight corners due to the rough pavement. Has anyone used another shock that takes the edge of the Z51 ride? How about Bilsteins?

Thanks!

Many folks have used the Bilstein's. Contact Shawn at LAPD for great deals on these shocks.

switching to non runflats will considerably smoothen out your ride. I just go the so3's and the car is smooth as silk!
BTW i have the z51 suspension.

My car was almost new when I put Bilstein Sports on it, so I can't give a good comparison. But I'll say that the tires seem to stay in touch with the pavement pretty well, even around bumpy corners.

Which is softer? Bilstein Sports or HD? One supplier says they ride smoother while others say they're 20% stiffer. Very confusing....

You could probably find someone with base shocks who would probably trade outright...

It seems that maybe a combo of big shocks & swaybar can be tempered with either going little shocks big swaybar or big shocks little swaybar.

I have stock shocks and will be upgrading to Z06 Sways to give it a little more holding. I've been told this is a great base suspension upgrade.

The Bilstein HD are supposed to be for the standard suspension, and the Bilstein Sports for the Z51 suspension. That should mean that the Sports are stiffer than the HDs.
