Re: Spark plug wires grounding to headers????? (MiamiDave)
I'm not taking any chances - having a LPE magnuson S/C installed right now and I'm going with Swaintech coated headers (a true ceramic coating), MSD wires, stock metal sleeves, and using Koolsox plug wire sleeve protectors. I figure that should nip any potential heat/grounding problems in the bud... :D
Re: Spark plug wires grounding to headers????? (MiamiDave)
Hi MiamiDave,
I've added redline water wetter and a lower temp thermostat to it already. I've asked LPE to also dial-in a lower temp radiator fan kick-in setting when they flash my computer during the tuning phase of the S/C install.
I realize that the S/C will add quite a bit of heat (when it's boosting that is), but since I don't plan on tracking the car, I don't think I'll need to look at a bigger radiator. Luckily, I also live in Minnesota, so high temps outside are pretty rare most of the driving season... love those cool Autumn days here... lot's of traction issues with that cold/dense air... but in a good way. :D
Re: Spark plug wires grounding to headers????? (Johnno)
i fried 4 plug wires due to no socks. I junked the taylors and bought some MSD's and a set of Taylor socks.. its the only cure to this problems, unless u buy header wrap and that would just be reversing the role.
