UPDATE:

So my new girlfriends dad owns a NAPA in a small town near me. I was talking to him about the ordeal and after examining my PCM we concluded that no one had touched it. So he wanted to send it to cardone and see waht they said. This was the week before Christmas. Any way they recieved it tested it, it was bad, they repaired it and had it returned to him in time for him to give back to me as a Christmas present on Christmas eve. So apparently the Autozone the dealership carried it to never sent it to Cardone.

The day after Christmas I carried it to the dealership told them how NAPA sent it to the same place Autozone had supposedly sent it to but they repaired it this time and apparentlt either they didn't take it to Autozone or Autozone didn't send it off. They called me the next day said the car was ready and there would be no charge. Drove it all day Saturday, its running great.

Gentlemen,

I'm reviving this thread because I'm in the same boat that tnfonz was. My PCM ('97 PCM) is shot and I'm searching for a new one. I had my PCM sent into cardone as tnfonz did, but unfortunately they were unable to repair it. I've been searching, but I'm not sure where to find a replacement.

Any help and knowledge from any forum members would be greatly appreciated!

AES Modules http://aesmodules.com/ is the only vendor I found that actually had one in stock. Price $550.

They may be able to repair yours.

I think I am finally getting close to fixing most my bugs,
The main one was the broken wires inside the insulation on the throttle sensor. A visual inspection would have never found them but thinks to the advise of a member I held one wire at the base of the plug and the other end as far back in the harness that I could and and pulled. 2 of them came apart right at the exact spot. They must have been damaged somehow. I did end up cutting all the wires at the same place and connecting them back with waterproof connectors that are designed for connecting electric firing systems to wires on professional fireworks displays. With them you do not strip the insulation just insert the two wires into slots and clamp down the tops with pliers till they lock. They are fully watertight and made to be used close to lots of heat and vibration, They can be used under water even.
My final problem was the MASS AIR FLOW pink wire not getting the 12 volts. I tracked that down to a similar problem that I am sure I caused when troubleshooting the Throttle position Sensor,

Good luck and like other people have said get it out of the dealership.
You said you are like me with no garage,
I have been knows to use a carwash when it was raining and I needed to do something and keep dry.
I chassed PCM codes for over a year. My throttle would jump and stick at 3800 rpm every time I drove the car. The issue ended up being the crimp splices the shop installed when they did my blower install. I ended up removing all crimps and soldering all connections. The splices you used don't sound to me to be a good idea on basicly computer communications. If you still have problems when your done, or start having them again, those connections is where I would start looking. Good luck
