Mineral oils and synthetic are compatible and you will have no ill effects from running non-synthetic for a short while. I wouldn't take the car to the track or run it to really high oil temps while you have mineral oil in it though.
in fact, if all you are doing is easy driving you can run conventional 5w30 to the full OCI. Corvette engines are hi performance therefore the oil has to meet the needs of extremes like higher pressures, higher heat, higher Gs, etc. if you car isn't being pushed, then conventional oil is just fine.

Solid, level-headed feedback and commentary is sometimes a rarity here, especially in these (what seem like), never-ending oil threads. Seems like it's one of the favorite "mystery of life" topics.
Oh, and don't worry about the "old" thing. There's a lot of that going on around here.

"So", I don't think that's what he's saying or implying at all, but I'll let him speak for himself.
I have over 300,000 miles on mine and it has always had synthetic but not always mobile 1
I have used royal purple when the local autozone put it on Clarence sale a few years ago for $2.50 a quart I bought 24 quarts which was all they had.
I have used Castroil and Valvoline also. I always use a mobile 1 or K&N filter.
I have yet to need to add any between changes, I normally change it around 15% but have gone down to 5%.
It is a daily driver but it does get ran pretty hard at times.
I have a nice pink framed certificate showing it will go 177MPH
