Mechanix gloves
50 lb fishing line
Spray can of Goo Gone/goof off.
Spray the goo gone along the top side of the piece of molding you are working on then cut through the tape under the bsm's with a sawing motion. If you aren't concerned with resale of the bsm's. angle the fishing line back toward you away from the car while sawing.
Start with a shorter piece to get your technique down(front fender). As you get a few inches help separate the molding by applying stress to the tape pulling the molding away from the car a bit. Once you get a piece off there will be tape left on the car and it will look kinda scary. Apply more goo gone and rub with your gloved fingers as you would rubbing a sticker into a ball. Should all come off with some elbow grease. Hopefully your paint is A okay.
Good luck and post before and after pics
P.s. when you spray the goo gone i would apply it along the top of all pieces and let sit. Really saturate it so the job will be easier. Victory loves preparation/work smart not hard kinda thing
If you want to read articles, with pictures on removal (and there are hundreds), go to Google and type in C5 BSM removal, or C5 body side molding removal, or similar. Google is much more productive than the forum search, but it still finds forum articles. You'll also see threads where owner's were surprised that their cars had been painted without removing the bsm's which can be a real issue, as 8Vette7 said.
Are you sure you want to do that??? Many have found the door had been repainted without removing the BSM's and they had a real mess to deal with after removing the BSM's and others have distinct fading of the paint except under the BSM.
Last thing I would want, is to remove them only to find there is a slight color variation. Then having to put them back on, only to find they fall off down the road, because the sticky used wore off.
Fishing line used between the side moldings and the door. Use a sawing motion with the monofilament line.

I was one of the MANY that found out AFTER i removed the BSM's that the door was repainted.
Like everything it's just a matter of what will make a person happy... I didn't know what the paint was like until I removed mine. I lucked out. But, I knew going in that the door bumpers were coming off regardless. Had the paint been funny I would have just had them fixed. BSM's look hideous IMO.
