Default Group 78 AGM battery in a C5?

Can a group 78 battery fit the battery tray in a C5? It sure looks like it will fit.

Anyone try it?

My battery manufacturers have discontinued making the Group 75, but offer the 78.

Thanks,
Plasticman

Check by looking at the battery as currently installed and I think that you will find that the 3/4" longer battery will fit fine.
Yep, I have the same info, and just checked the battery tray, and compared it with a group 78 battery. Looks like it will fit.

I have a group 78 in both of my '99's.

I just put this one in about a week ago.

Good luck.

Good luck.
That is a terrific price for an AGM! Wish we had a Farm & Fleet down here.

Thanks,

It will fit just fine.

I've been using group 78 size batteries, to replace the original group 75 AGM battery in my 2001, for nearly 10 years now.

If you don't mind a few extra pounds of weight, the extra CCA and reserve capacity of the group 78 size is a big plus.

Group 78s fit just fine and due to their slightly larger case size, they have higher CA/CCA/RC specs.
