Help with repairs -- C5
I own a 2000 Black Corvette Convertible and was told that my main seal is leaking; however, I smell a burning oil smell after driving it a long distance. I am a single female and would greatly appreciate any recommendations for an HONEST mechanic in the Fort Worth, TX area. Thank you so much!!

Keep in mind that most of the time, oil pressure sender leaks are misdiagnosed as leaking rear main seals. This is due to the fact that it drips down the back of the engine and gives the impression that the rear main is leaking. You need to find a shop that specializes or at least knows Corvettes. Mechanics that have never worked on C5's will misdiagnose this problem 90% of the time. It could also be a leaking upper oil pan gasket.
