Default 2 bar map sensor

testing the interest in a 2 bar map sensor for the 05, but it will also work on the 97-04. The calibration of the sensor would not go negative like the current 2 bar GM sensor so you could use it in the LS1B and E40 ECU's. The retail price would be $69.95.

Explain to me the advantages over the current system? Not being sarcastic but I would need to know what improvements there would be to be able to determine if I would have an interest in it. Thanks

It depends, for a stock car it would not be needed. This is only used if someone is going to supercharge their 05 or earlier. GM made a 3 bar for the LSA and LS9 engine that we use on E38 and E67 ECU's. In their calibration though they have a high range that exceeds where the ECU can go on a E40 and LS1B and they have a negative offset and those two ECU's can only go as low as 0

So why would you need this. This is so the MAP sensor can correctly monitor what is coming into the engine. It would keep fueling accurate if you decided to go SD or in case the MAF had a failure at the wrong time. This allows the ECU to do what it was designed to do in a naturally aspirated enviroment, at high speed air it is using the MAF for the air calculation but using the SD as a back up and comparison. This all would correctly function if the correct 2 bar sensor was in place.
Not to mention you could also log boost psi in your scanner.

so basically it is a 2 bar that will work within the ECU's capability of understanding... so no codes, plug and play and ecu monitoring as if it where that way from the factory (if our cars where hypothetically oem boosted)... if i understand correctly?

Yes, but not plug and play you would still have to correct the MAP table. If not it would think 4.5 volts is still 101kpa where with the new sensor it would be 200kpa.

I have been considering going FI. Waiting until I have the money for all the upgrades I believe I need. Clutch, torque tube bushings, trans and diff brace, half shafts, Tick MC, remote bleeder. I think I've settled on one of the A&A kits. Just waiting for the funds to get the rest of what I need. And I need to find a reputable tuner in the Chattanooga TN area.

My Dad lives in the area, but I don't know if there is a great calibrator down there. You need to make sure you are putting good items in the car before it goes out to a calibrator. Like fuel pump, not a boost a pump and a good set of Deka 60 injectors with data.
