Default z51 option

I bought my vette(99 coupe) used,it has active handling and the "'performance handling package" a 350$ option.I know what the active handling is all about but is the "php": option the z51 option I often hear about?

To find out if you have the Z51 package look at the RPO sticker on the inside of your glove box. If you see Z51 on the sticker then you have the Z51 package.

Z51 gives you the performance rear end (3.15), thicker sway bars, better shocks and a power steering cooler.

I thought it was 3.42s. The best part about the z51 is that you can upgrade the shocks without having to bypass any sort of programming.

The 3.42 gears came with the 6 speed manual. The autos came with 2.73 standard.

The springs are also a performance version, are they not?

Never heard about the springs being different. I have the Z51 on my 04 and believe the springs are the same with the thicker sway bars and better shocks.

I just rechecked the specs for the Z51 and it does include stiffer springs.

6 speed will have 3.42 gears either way.
