Default Memory Module

I know that the memory module(or whatever it is called) remembers seat positions, heater settings, mirror position, radio presets, etc BUT when I first got my C5 10 years ago it defaulted to driver 1 when you got in the car. The little light on driver 1 came on. Now it defaults to driver 2. How do I put it back to 1 and how did it change in the first place. Thanks guys, Happy Holidays.

If you look on the BACK of your FOBs, you should see FOB1 or FOB2

Some people have fobs that are not numbered. Bring all the fobs that you have into the car. Enter FOB TRAINING on the DIC.

Train the first fob, train the second Fob and if you have three, train the third fob.

Take the first fob that you trained and set all the things in the cabin to your preffered settings.

PRESS and HOLD MEM1 until it blinks three times. That will be your MEM1 fob with your settings.

REMEMBER! A weak / old aged 12VDC battery will allow your memory settings to reset to FACTORY DEFAULT settings each time the battery output drops below that modules cut off voltage ( ie during cranking)

Hope this helps

Bill

Sure does Bill, I will give it a shot. My FOBs are not marked on the back. I store the vette over the winter and lost charge several times last winter. thanks again, Happy Holiday

Frankly, I have been through the DIC a hundred times and I do not ever remember see training the Fobs. I will look again.

Thanks again Bill, all you have to do is take the owners manual and look up training the Fob. It is absolutely amazing how dumb we can be. For those out there who need it ... go to the blank page at the end of options on the DIC and hold down the reset button for 15 seconds. it will change to Fob Training on the DIC. Then take your first Fob and hold down the lock and unlock buttons together for about 15 seconds. The DIC will say fob 1 trained, then do the same for the next fob and the third if you have one. easy.

BUT Bill, I think I have a water problem on the door arm rest. my top seal leaks in heavy rain. When I hold down a button on mem 1 or 2 it only blinks once. If I just press it, it seems to work but it then blinks about 10 times. It is too cold here to mess around very much .. I will check it out later in the spring. Thanks again
