Default Car storage

I've got to leave my car for approx. 6 months and was wondering if there could be any issues leaving the car for so long without starting it and should I disconnect the battery?
Thanks; Donnie

No, a lot of people on here do this every year. Mine is stored right now. Biggest issue is mice depending on where you live. Make sure to use a fuel preservative.

Yes, you should disconnect the battery.

It's not a bad idea to change the oil before storage.

I generally think fuel treatment is useless when you've been using premium fuel with no ethanol content.

If you have fuel with ethanol in it you really should get rid of it (run the tank down low) and fill it with ethanol free fuel. I generally put in six ounces of Stabil in the full tank, if only because it is cheap insurance.

On winters where I didn't fill with ethanol free fuel I didn't put a lot of gas in the tank and drove the car enough on sunny dry days to use up most of the fuel every six weeks and put in a couple of fresh gallons at that interval.

If you have ethanol in the fuel and it goes bad you will regret it.

You can google ethanol free gas.com and find a place that has ethanol free fuel..

A car should be stored either full tank of gas or empty. I'd put a fuel stabilizer in if going with a full tank. Get one for ethanol. Not many gas stations herewith ethanol free gas. In fact I haven't seen one. So it's something I plan to deal with.

All I do with mine is park it in the garage and hook up a battery tender.
