Default Heads, intake, cam, headers

Just finished upgrading my 2000 LS1 and thought I would post the spreadsheet of the items and the costs. I stayed with Genuine GM, for the most part, and here is reality:

ITEM PART # Price
LS6 Valley Cover Included bolts and gasket) 12577927 $99.97
Valve Cover Gaskets (2) 12637683 $39.94
Front timing chain Cover gasket 12633904 $13.27
water pump gasket (2) 12630223 $9.94
Front Crankshaft seal 12585673 $28.38
Head gasket set 12498544 $37.97
AIR tube gaskets (2) 12553617 $2.00
BTR Platinum dual springs SK001 $289.00
Intake Manifold Gaskets (kit of 8) 12533587 $69.97
Cam 226/230 114+2 $399.00
exhaust manifold gaskets (2) 12617944 $23.94
ls6 pvc plug 12568011 $9.95
Cylinder head bolts SUM-910210 $48.97
GM Crank bolt 12557840 $4.85
Lifter Trays 12595365 $31.88
Gasket for engine oil cooler block 12611384 $7.89
Comp Cam Pushrod length checker CCA-7702-1 $19.97
Summit Racing LS Rocker Trunnion kit SME-143002 $99.97
Used 799 heads $400.00
Cylinder head machine shop reconditioning $350.00
Kook's headers and hi flow CATS 1 3/4 $1,751.00
NGK Iridium plugs, TR6 $67.12
3/8 vacuum hose $2.00
Used LS6 Intake $350.00
Fluids, misc stuff (approx) $150.00
Then, Dyno&tune $500.00

TOTAL $4,806.98

I collected the parts over an 8 month period mostly because the heads and the intake took a while to locate and purchase. It is surprising how it adds up. In the end, I probably could have found an LS2,LS3 for about the same price and maybe came out ahead, selling the LS1 as part of the deal.

The dyno isn't scheduled until the end of the month and I'll post the results then. I had the PCM flashed for the mods, and based on the feel in the seat, it has about the same get-up-and-go as my 2011 GS that has an LS3

That's a great list, I'll copy it to file and save. I bet it's a fun ride.

Nice little list, have fun with it!

I'm kinda surprised you didn't replace a perfectly good oil pump, That seems like it's always on peoples H/C to do list ... or port it ...

What kind of gears do you have and what sort of numbers are you looking for from the dyno/qtr mile?

Looking for around a 100hp gain. In the end this is close to an Ls6 with a cam and headers. The rest of the car is stock 6sp man and I'm using it for hpde track days
