Default Clutch options

okay i have a 2000 corvette FRC with 98k miles on it. the car is a H/C/I/Long tube car that makes 446 hp and 390 tq. and im looking at putting a 125 shot of nitrous on it later. i am getting oil coming out of the bell housing vent holes on the bottom so i suspect its either the rear main seal or the rear main seal cover gasket. so while i am in there i am going to replace the clutch kit, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, install a speed bleeder, replace the rear main seal and the rear main seal cover gasket.

now i have a ls7 clutch, pressure plate and flywheel in there right now with like 20k miles on it.

i was looking at the mantic single disk clutch but that is 1k bucks for everything and seems to be in the price range of twin disks

my question is what clutch should i go with?

Bang for the buck our Level 3 single disc can't be beat at $679.99 for the basic package with 28lb billet steel flywheel, but for a little more our LT1-S twin disc will hold almost as much and have stock driveability for $1099.99. Here's a link to it, don't hesitate if you have any questions.

Any chatter on those clutches? I'm in the market for a new clutch this summer my stock can't hold my Boltons/Cam. I'm looking for stock feel that can hold 460ish RWHP, no chatter.

My McLoed RST makes noise sometimes when it's hot at idle with the clutch out.
Kind of a cyclic scraping sound.
From what I've gathered this is fairly normal on twin-disk setups on our corvette's and aggravated with light flywheels (mine is aluminum).
I've been told it can be masked by raising the idle, haven't tried it yet.

I do not consider that clutch chatter.

how do you like the RST? will that hold the power with no issues with making 446hp NA plus a 125 shot when i decide to hit it with NOS

The LT1-S is what I would recommend and it isn't going to chatter any more than the factory C7 clutch as that is what it is.

I do not consider that clutch chatter.
Chatter is generally caused by either fluid contamination or a glaze being built up from excessively slipped which causes an inconsistent mating surface between the disc, flywheel and pressure plate. It is easier to cause this with a ceramic friction material than an organic material, but not saying impossible. A lighter flywheel can cause this more easily as it generally takes more rpm to take off meaning more slippage with it's lower MOI. People also may associate it with aluminum flywheels because the steel inserts can warp with heat.
