Default Car problems

I picked up my 2002 zo6 on May 30 (the wife and I's 1 year anniversary :D), with 11 miles on it.

Since day one there has bene a Vibration (in the steering whell only) at speeds over 75 on certain roads.

(dealer Visit 1) out of service 1 day
I brought it back to the dealer and the road force balanced all the wheels and tires on a Hunter (GSP 97???) machine. Vibration still there. And they put a nice 1 inch scratch in the lip of the wheel. They claimed it is "not possible" that they did this. :mad

(dealer visit 2) out of service 1 day
I bring it back to them a week later, and after 10 hours or so they call and say they road tested the car up to 65mph and there is no vibration. Also they said they will not take it above 65 as it is illegal ...nothing done

(dealer visit 3) out of service 1 day
This time I took it to another dealer that specializes in vettes. They said the front wheels were totally out of balance, and they road forced balanced them on the Hunter GSP...whatever. The vibration is no much less pronounced, but still noticable.

I am not sure where to go from here? Is this a Lemnon Law case yet?

Other issues at delivery (not noticed until two days later)
1)Parking brake does not hold car on hills (dealer adjusted parking brake)
2)Melted paint by passenger side headlight (due to orbital buffer I believe) Dealer offered to repaint...
3)Damage to rear window trim (dealer ordered part) They said the window would have to come out and they needed 4 days, custome rdeclines repair
4)Damage to carpet by passenger seat post (dealer offered to have it fixed)

I am really pissed off at this point and I get even more pissed when my 728.00 lease payments comes in the mail.

Default Re: Car problems (Argetni)

Sounds like your main problem is a crappy dealer. You need to find a new dealer. As for your issues...(1) Have you checked to see that a rotor may be warped and causing the vibration you mentioned? (2) My parking brake isn't great either, but hasn't failed me yet. (3) My rear window trim is damaged too, but not worth the hassle of getting the back window out. I am not going to stress out over that. (4) Who was using an orbital buffer on your car? Never let the dealer even wash the car (for dealer visit) or when they prep it at delivery. :yesnod: If it isn't very noticeable I wouldn't get too down about it. You will have more paint damage in the future inevitably (if you actually drive the thing). (5) Carpet thing seems minor and like an easy fix.

Find a new dealer quick. And no, I don't think it is a Lemon yet.

Good luck!
