They can tell ???
I was told that the dealer can send your oil out for analysis to see what modifications you have; N20, non-mobil 1, etc... Is this true?

Certainly an oil analysis will tell if the oil is mineral stock or synthetic stock,
so yes to the "Mobil-1" question.
I don't know for sure if nitrous leaves a residue, but I wouldn't think so.
They can almost certainly tell if you've been running leaded gas, or av-gas,
but unleaded race gas (100/104) should not be easily detectable.

The usual purpose of doing the oil analysis is to determine how much metal is in the oil, and other contaminates... But I guess it can't be completely ruled out.

Yes, it can be done. I doubt that many would, however. Do you look untrustworthy? :jester

The Nirtous that we use in our vehicles has sulfer added to keep the kiddies from sniffing it. I would imagine that a very small amount will find its way in to the oil, so if they test for the presence of sulfer, it should show up.

Actually, to be technical, it's Sulfur Dioxide ("rotten egg smell"). As to whether it could be detected by oil analysis, who knows?
Regards.
