I've got the waterfall, console, arm rest glove/map box and dash bezel parts off. I have the leather shifter boot pulled up over the shifter. I can see the narrow white plastic strip and red plastic thingy that sit above the bulb. There are four (4) 10mm nuts that hold another component that has the selector, tran cable and a bunch of other plastic parts in place on top of the center hump between both seats. Do I have to lift that unit up and come from underneath to get to the bulb socket ? Or do I peel up that narrow white plastic piece and work from top down ?
Appreciate any advise or direction
So, you'll be doing your HVAC light and this also? I'll look in my FSM and see what is says. Will get back tomorrow unless someone beats me to it. Till then, Mr. Sam
PS: Just found this. See if it helps. Note post #9.
I did it following the directions posted in the link above. The only thing is that it doesn't have pictures.
I decided to replaced the factory bulb with an LED to avoid the heat problems reported. I documented what I did here and took pictures along the way to complement the original procedure.

When I said HVAC I was referring to the fan light. Will still be glad to help with the light on your other Thread. Till then, Mr. Sam
Oh, I thought you were refering to the HVAC display window showing temp etc.. Several years back the temperature display window got real weak and on a bright day was hard to see. Even at night it was hard to see. So, I had that fixed and I'm still paying for it. The local Chev dealer stuck it to me so I try to stay away from service departments. When the warranty expires on Jeanne's new 2014, they'll never see the car again.

I bought the same LED, & followed your directions (both yours and the linked ones from JRPRICH). Worked perfectly!
Thanks,
