So far only one review has been made. The design is extremely pleasing to my functionality obsessed thinking. The addition of screens seems to be a benefit for keeping the filter cleaner as far as debris. Hows about the dreaded hydro-lock issue?
I had asked before what the heck are those plastic blanks for in the bumper?-There had to be a use! I thank everyone for their replies but I was not satisfied. Holes in a surface are inherently BAD. You lose strength holistic unity, and efficiency as they cause increased friction. The purpose for a hole has to serve some higher function to be made a rational design choice. Z06's are designed to utilize those added holes and for brake heat relief added a couple more. Understandable. Heat advoidance and disappation of heat are the only legitimate reason. Putting holes in a vehicle lessens weight but why was the material there in the first place? Bad Design?
Well this Vararam soothes my mind but in turn, Hassel-Free is an an extremely important aspect also. (See complaints about Vortex filter changing.)
Comments are welcome.
I like my VaraRam, and it has made my Z06 consistantly quicker than it was with the K&N I had been useing. The Z06 allready was getting cooler air through the screens, to the stock box than the standard C5. IF it is worth the price is some thing each has to decide individualy. I had an easyer time with the question, as I was chosen for a free one for testing and was rewarded with my best times to boot!! It's a very nice piece. IMHO Ric
Ric,
I assume you are using the foam filter...What do you think of it? I'm curious because I just got my vararam and besides the foam filter, I think it's a top quality piece. Excellent finish, great service, and VERY quick responses from the company on my questions. I'm not much of a filter guru, but the seals were very loose on the foam surround making me wonder if another alternative might be better...
I don't mind the foam filter, but patrick did send me an updated(thicker)seal that goes around it. Give him a call to see if you have the updated one. About 10min to put it in. Ric
Can't comment to the performance aspects, but I have now seen two of the units. They do appear to be very high quality pieces with good fit and finish.
Is the Vararam price suppose to be a secret? I notice nobody ever talks about the price except to say "expensive" and manufacturer doesn't list it anywhere.
