theyre essentially shorties so the only way to upgrade them would be to go to longtubes. they are from the factory to reduce noise and to provide enough flow for stock setup.
If doing the exhaust for sound and the look out back, dont mess with the headers. If big power in the form of FI or a heads and cam build are in mind in the future, you will need a better system. Long tubes themselves are a great way to add power. Depends on what you're after.
would rather have them over ls1 manifolds and the typical 40-50 bucks a pair they fetch used could make it an inexpensive upgrade if you already have it apart and want to stay stock
This off road X connects to factory pipes to eliminate cats. More sound and performance from your current system. With a canned tune, CAI and this X pipe I put down 336 rwhp on stock engine. Added new set of long tubes with dyno tune and gained an additional 8 rwhp.
I really don't want to mess up a good thing, considering the titanium Z exhaust. I would just like a little more aggressive tone. Any ideas?
Only the cat back section is titanium. You can do the mods I described above to achieve both a more aggressive tone and better performance..."""provided you can go without cats"""
"The 26-pound titanium muffler and tailpipe assembly of the Z06 replaced the 44-pound stainless steel system used in the base-model C5. Titanium has a natural oxide layer that provides immunity to external corrosion from road salts, as well as to internal corrosion from sulfur-rich engine exhaust. Although common in 2010, titanium exhausts were very rare when the Corvette Z06 was developed in 2001. At that time the manufacturing technology to produce titanium mufflers in mass-market quantities didn't exist. Working with TIMET to optimize an exhaust grade of titanium, ArvinMeritor, the manufacturer of the GM system, adapted its stainless steel stamping, bending, cold forming and welding methods to accommodate the structural differences between stainless steel and titanium."
The LS7 exhaust manifolds are a great, cheap alternative to headers. I have been running them and the 3" h-pipe on my c5 for over a year. It will pickup power over the stock c5z stuff. Good alternative if you don't wanna spend 4x the price for headers. Headers will shine much more with an aftermarket cam.
Mine are coming off in a couple weeks. I'll be selling the whole setup for around $400, manifolds, cats, 3" h-pipe, adapted down to 2.5" at the end to fit the stock mufflers.
Over your stock c5 stuff, it will be a 20+ rwhp gain, more with a tune to go with it.

Man,, you lucked out. I bet if mchicia1 took pictures of his install, you would want it for your car. The LS7 setUp is the next best thing to headers and its STOCK!

Yep, only reason I am selling is because I am an h/c/i car now. I feel the headers will be a nice gain. If I was stock, I wouldn't even bother with headers.
This guy did an awesome writeup on installing these in a c5. Mine are already adapted and ground in the correct places. The only issue I saw was the rear 02 on the driver's side might have had a clearance issue. Not that I care, because I don't run them. Rear 02s aren't really necessary, they don't have any bearing on fueling.
We installed these on my Dad's car as well and he had no issues with fitment anywhere though. I tuned it right after I installed them and it went from dead hooking 1st with the stock exhaust to absolutely shredding the tires with the ls7.
Matt even took the time to weld in air tubes to keep it really factory looking. I am sure this wouldn't be too difficult to do, but I just ripped that air stuff out lol. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1583203755-post1.html

That x-pipe bolt right up to the stock pipes? No cuting/welding required?
Stock pipe needs to be cut to replace cat section. Slip fit but I welded mine. It was over 10 years ago when I did my car so cannot vouch on fitment of this part as it may be sourced from another fabricator. Call Breathless and ask for most current information.
