Now before I get told to search. I did. But my question was not fully resolved. Here's the issue. The other day after shutting my headlights off my pass side refused to close all the way. So I cranked it down. Fast forward to today. Totally forgot about my light issue and it won't go up. Driver side works great though. So I go to crank it up and the crank piece is missing. So I get in my truck and head was off. Now I think it's just the motor gear but wasn't sure as it makes zero noise. Also does the headlight control module cause issues with one light or would it affect both? Any insight would be appreciated before I start taking it apart after work.
The headlight door control module controls both doors. However the outputs are separate so it could be an internal module issue or wiring issue going to that specific door. Of course it could be a connector or ground issue. If you need any wiring info let us know. These modules don't seem to fail very often.
Also check the fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. In my 2001 Fuse 3 is for the right door motor and Fuse 4 is for the driver side motor. You may have had an issue that finally caused a fuse to blow. If not:
I would try to borrow a module and see if that fixes it. If I recall correctly it is near the passenger headlight.
