My cousin has a '98 Trans Am for which he is building a new motor. He claims to be getting a 6.0L block with 4.000 inch bores. What would this put the displacement up to??? Thanks for any help! :yesnod: :seeya

intel,
What is the formula for coming up with 364ci? How many more inches can be gained from grinding the crank?

The cross sectional area of a circle is PI * R^2. The volume of anything is it's area in one direction, times it's height in another, so the volume of a cylinder is PI * R^2 * H. R = radius = diameter / 2 = bore / 2. H = height = stroke.

Then you multiply by number of cylinders, and get displacement = PI * (bore/2)^2 * stroke * 8.

PI is 3.14159...

Stock bore is 3.9 and stock stroke is 3.62 (I think).

http://www.aera.org/Tech/cube_calc.html
link I used
6.0 bore is 4.00 ( I should know :D :D )
Ls1 stroke is 3.62

So try 4.030 (.030 overbore) and 3.72 ground crank :D :D

What would that .030 overbore and 3.72 ground crank take the displacement to on that 6.0L block???
Intel, what setup do you have on your C5??? He(cousin) is very interested in any other ideas.
Thanks For the Help!!:yesnod: :seeya

Miles good work and Intel that table is great...almost as good as the f-body.org gear ratio calculator.
