Default C1242 wire colors?

I have a 02 vert with 74k on it. I have owned it for 6yrs, I only have driven it in the rain 3 times. The first 2 times in the rain the C1242 would clear after 24hrs in the garage. Now I am stuck with the code.
I have checked all the fuses and the ground. I want to try exercising
the pump motor so I need the info on which wire is Positive and which is the Negative any help would be appreciated...

Never mind the colors both seem to be black, any ideas?

I looked in my 2001 FSM. It shows the motor wires from the EBCM to the BPMV (where the motor is). There are no wire colors or connector designations at all. I also looked at the connector pin outs which showed nothing for the BPMV interface for the motor. Very strange, hopefully someone else can help.

YES~ Unplug the BPMV motor connector form the EBTCM.

Use a DC Volt meter and with the KEY ON,, you should have battery voltage on one terminal of the EBTCM side of the connector. That one would be POSITIVE.

The other EBTCM terminal is the internal relay terminal that connects the circuit to GROUND to turn on the electric motor ON. If you measure that with a Volt meter or Ohm Meter, it should read zero volts/ open. That one will be the NEGATIVE terminal.

Bill is spot on with his recommendation from my circuit review. Wish I had enough experience on the EBCM to have thought about that.

Sure seems like an "easy" way to exercise the motor and move fluid around. Thanks, Bill
