Our nitrous system is in and all wired in the engine compartment. Only thing left to do is to run a ground wire and keyed power from the passenger side fuse box (still looking for those wires) to the switch panel that will go in the ash tray and then run two wires out (keyed power for the system and purge wire) through the battery box and we'll be ready to test. What is the best way to get wires through there? Are there interior/dash pieces that need to be removed? I really can't see a way to get the wires through there as everything is pretty tight and compact and was hoping to find someone who has already done this to give advice.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I've just finished mounting two switches in that location. One for the tranny cooler pump and one for the Accusump. I used two LED rockers from www.delcity.net part number 7700100 and a two switch mounting plate I found at Baxter Auto Parts. The switches require 1/2" mounting holes and that's what the mounting plate has. I mounted the plate and switches in the factory ashtray (I cut off the back of the ash tray) and ran the wires out the back of the ashtray mounting area after enlarging the opening just a bit. (Cuts and shapes easily with a dremel.) Now I have two switches with lights that tell me they are on and I can just pull out the ash tray to access the wiring on either. When I'm not using them the ashtray area flap door covers them up.
I previously had just the tranny cooler pump switch mounted on a single swich mount plate that was pop riveted to the inside side wall of the removable part of the ashtray. This took much less time to set up and install and worked the same at the set up I have now.
I routed the wire from the engine compartment through the rubber plug on the firewall behind the battery. I punctured the plug from the engine side and probed with my coat hanger until it came out in the footwell. I don't think you would ever get it through going from the footwell out. Both my switches use relays that I have mounted just outboard of the main fuse block in the engine bay.
