[QUOTE]They are side specific. For optimal performance wet/dry you can not move them.
But won't the outside of the tire always be on the outside?
I can't see how it would matter. The tread runs in opposite directions on the left and right, on the left the angles on the tread point towards the front, on the right the angles on the tread point towards the rear. Even if you swap them the tread still runs the same direction on the left is forward, and the right is towards the rear.
If they are side specific, where are they marked left and right. I know the tire rack only has one Goodyear F1 Supercar tire for the rear and one for the front, they don't mention left or right.
In order to get the outside of the tire always on the outside you have to turn the tire around, then it's facing the wrong direction. Remember they are directional tires too.

The different tread blocks meant for different purposes have swapped. Not what you want.

Re: Swapping tires (CP)
Goodyear SC's are not directional... and can be rotated with the wheel, left rear to right rear... although I am not quite sure what benefit there might be in rotating them this way.... the only requirement is that the outside tread be on the outside when mounted on the wheel.....
Your right, it's been a while since I've had them on my car. They have to have the right side out, but are not directional. In order to rotate I believe you have to dismount them. They wear out before you need to rotate anyways!

cjones,
you would have to unmount the tires and turn them around on the wheels for your theory to work with the supercar tires.
If you swap the wheels from left to right with the supercars everything stays the same, the outside tread pattern stays on the outside, the inside pattern stays on the inside, and the tread direction stays the same also. :yesnod:
