From what I understand, you need longtube headers to get any gains.
Are you allowed to have longtubes in Las Vegas with their emissions test?
shorty headers will not do much for you. If you can't do long tubes look for a LS7 exhaust minus the axle back of course. you will have to adapt the rear to work with the stock c5 cat back but it will outperform shorty headers.
Im running the OBX shorties with my A&A supercharger and I like them and how they sound..
I'm making 540 rwhp which is plenty for me.
I too would be interested on an opinion on the BBKs but so far the responders are answering questions about longtubes vs shorties which is not what you asked.

I'm guessing with that super charger you don't have smog laws
A&A is 50 state legal and all we have here is an obd2 scan for emissions no CARB number required.
I didn't want to spend the extra money for long tubes plus I used the stock cat pipe.
Some longtubes heat up the tunnel as well.

About the same price also. What makes them better?
They are a very good design for a factory manifold. All stainless steel and much bigger ports plus the factory ls7 cats flow very well too. The manifolds ports are divided until they exit out the huge collector and in to a 3 inch down pipe to the 3 inch h pipe. The system flows very well and makes just a bit less than lt headers on a c5. I've had lt headers and now have the ls7 exhaust. I'm very happy with the ls7 exhaust and I don't hear any of the ticking that I had with the long tubes and seems to be a common complaint with lt headers. I don't notice much if any difference in performance either. Just my .02
The only shorty header I have heard anything good about is the b&b but they are still pretty $$$ and gains are still pretty moderate from what I have read...
Any input on this would be helpful. I already have magnaflow X-pipe back.
Thanks
None. I've been down this road. BBK's with a before and after dyno gained ZERO hp. It would be the same for any shorty likely. Speaking form experience. Don't waste your time and money.
I might have picked up 15 horsepower more than the advertised 175 with the supercharger over the stock manifolds but it does sound better with the shorties.

StrangelovesM6Vert what else did you do? Cam? Heads?
It's a stock 2002 LS1 with just the shorties.
I had IPS Motorsports in Ohio Install and dynotune the A&A kit.
It came out with 538.4 rwhp and 489 ft/lb of torque.
I added an ECS girdle due to wheel hop.
OBX Has catted longtubes for 850.00
XS Power headers are also about the same price.
if I hadn't gone with the supercharger that's what I would have done.

I've got a set of BBK's.. I like them..
Living in CA. you cant change the exhaust in anyway.. that being said when you run the BBK's everything stays in the same place.
The only difference anyone would notice is that you don't have a heat shield over you exhaust pipes.... I've been asked by a SMOG guy once and I told him I wanted the engine to look more like a track car... He tool it and ok'ed the car.
The connections are all stock..
I did notice a "boost" in performance... I know its no where near what you'd get with longtubes.. but then I don't have to sweat my SMOG inspections either or drop my tubes every two years.
If you look you can find a set for about 300 bucks or so... BTW BBK's are NOT legal in CA for Z06's only the coupes.. Go figure

Where do you get this from? I was looking at some shorties for my '04 ZO6...And I KNOW Lt's are better, but I live in Cali and dont want to change them every 2 years for 15whp...
Maybe I will just save for a while and get a A&A kit...
