I am very new to here. Recently i bought a 01 corvette coupe and havent done emission test. There are some engine codes and my mechanic said i should fix those codes before emission test. here are the codes:
P0713
P0740
P0748
P0753
P0758
P0785
P1810
P1860
I googled and it seems they are all related to transmission. I heard it may related to electric power to the transmission failed. but i absolutely have no clue where to look. could anyone here have details how to fix those codes? thank you all so so so much!
Trans codes should not fail you on emissions. Where are you located? Most states don't even check tail pipe emissions, just I/M monitors via the OBD port.

thats what i thought too. im in toronto, canada. but anyway i still need to fix these before driving without worry. thanks.
my transmission is manual, what you mean those codes must be applied to auto? or maybe i bought a car with manual conversion? holly.....
im gonna check fuses. thanks bery much!
I would call GM with your vin to see if it was originally an auto trans. If so, then it would be best to flash a manual trans tune into the pcm. Or maybe someone installed a used pcm from an auto equipped car.

because the 11th postion of my vin is 5. so i can almost certain my car was auto transmission originally.

You could delete all codes for the auto pcm file with Hp Tuners. But there are some unique & hidden tables for the manual pcm files that aren't available with Hp tuners. Your best option is to flash a stock manual trans file with Hp Tuners or with a Gm Tech II TIS. But you will need to find a suitable manual trans vin, and the emission inspector may require the pcm & vehicle vin's to match.

got it. thanks very much! can i ignore those codes and still get emission done? those methods are really too complicated. the car is great its just check engine light on and really worry the emission wont pass with emission light on. big headache!

All your codes except po713 are type A or B codes. They are listed as emissions related. Only p0713 is listed as a type C non emissions related. Type A and B will turn on the mil. Type c will not.
I agree with RussK. Reflash the PCM with an m6 file. Do it before your emission inspection. If they pull the codes and are aware they are related to an auto trans, they may fail you for tampering. They might also check to see if the vin in the PCM matches the vin on the dash plate, tampering if not?
