I received a fault message regarding my left rear tire pressure sensor the other day. Upon looking at that page, the left rear tire had XXX for the pressure. It stayed that way all the way home.
I called the dealer and asked to bring it in the next day, however when I fired it up, the sensor was working properly. It has been doing so for a few days. Yesterday, on firing up, I looked out of curiosity, about 5 minutes into my trip, and the left rear indicator simply had no x's or tire pressure amount - it was blank. There was no fault displayed. A few minutes later, I checked, and it was reading normally.
Is this just the nature of the beast, or is this the way they slowly die?

Re: Question about tire pressure sensor (skydive69)
On my recent trip to Bloomington Gold, I had the service tire pressure system message go on and when checking, the right rear sensor had the triple X's displayed. However, it later displayed the correct pressure. I think that occasionally the sensor will lose contact with the receiver and has to reset.

You might click on Tech Tips here and do the sensor re-training procedure. It may not help but it's free and only takes a couple of minutes if you have a strong magnet.
