This is the clutch slave I received from Monster. It has the wrong connection...for an F-body. Is the answer as simple as pulling the old one off the old slave or should I have them send the correct slave?

The last two aftermarket C5 clutches, a Monster just like that one and a Mantic twin disc, both had that same setup on the slave fittings. I believe they are configured that way to accommodate the remote bleed line easier. I'll be installing my Mantic in the next couple of weeks with a remote bleed line.
Here's a pic of the one that came with the Monster clutch. I ended up selling this and buying the higher capacity Mantic.
The fbody slave is a few bucks cheaper, some people get that one and just swap fittings, not a big deal if your fittings are ok, if they are trashed id get a new one.
If you go to the monster site it show the option to get the fbody slave or the more expensive corvette slave and just swap over the fitting. Which one did you order?

That's an Fbody slave, not a C5 slave. It was either ordered incorrectly or my guys screwed up. Regardless, just give us a call and we'll get you taken care of. 817-750-2000

I assume you mean their twin as our single pictured will outperform their single.
We also have twins that drive like stock that will support 1000rwhp + and a new triple that retains factory drivability that will support 1500 rwhp. Wished you would have contacted us before making that switch.

No, he wants you to contact him so he can ship you a CORRECT slave and get you up and running. Monster is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, and WILL get you taken care of. Trust me.

If you re-read my post, you'll notice I mentioned I sold the Monster already. Nothing against Monster, but I decided to go with a twin Mantic to handle the higher HP I am ultimately planning instead of upgrading to a Monster twin. He was implying I should contact him to buy his twin rather than the Mantic - I already have the Mantic and it's about to go in. I got a smokin' deal on the Mantic and their quality is second to none. I will be using a remote bleed line I got from ECS at the same time and the Mantic slave is set up to receive the remote line already. Certainly not dissin' Monster as I was about to install it - the Mantic 9000 series has gotten excellent reviews for some time now.

The F-body, C5 and GTO slaves are all the same just with different connections, it is very easy to swap the connector with an 1/8" punch as seen in the link below. http://kb.ls1gto.com/KB/article.aspx?id=10830
The direct fit C5 slave cylinders are getting harder to come by, you even mentioned the Mantic had the same?
Do you realise that person does not own or ever driven a Mantic clutch?
That is probably the only negative post I can remember on this board about Mantic and it's hear say at that.
I have seen tons of negative posts about Monster clutches, but I would never quote, save, or repost them here or anywhere else.
I know the real history on that clutch, it was severely abused, the owner concurred, and we sent him a new one anyway. We can do that because the failure rate of Mantic clutches is next to none.

Lets keep things professional please.
I was just correcting his statement about a clutch not having any negative feedback, nothing personal against Mantic. Just stating a fact that a clutch that is widely used enough is going to have negative, if from nothing else installation error as we're all human and make mistakes. My apologies as I'm not discrediting the product, there is no perfect clutch for every single intended usage. Which when you sell more kinds of models unfortunately it makes it more possible for people to get the incorrect clutch and have problems. We do not delete any posts and hopefully others who read any of our threads completely learn something, so as not to have the same mistake repeated. I've heard some clutch companies include a note with their clutch threatening their warranty is voided if they post anything negative, I think you know whom I'm talking about I realize my posting may have come off the wrong way, glad to see that gentleman was corrected on his statement being incorrect
Hmm, that almost got out of hand. I had not checked the post since last week. I had a simple question and I appreciate the answers. I'll work it out with Monster. They seemed very accommodating on the phone the couple of times I talked to them. I created the post to gauge if it was even worth bringing up to Monster, as I haven't done a clutch on a C5 and I don't know if there are issues with reusing the line or if they are prone to failure.
