Need help identifying a noise 2003 Z06
Hi all,
You can hear a high pitched persistent squealing at high RPMs, and it's not intermittent (it happens every time).
It all started when I first bought the car in 2010 with 35k miles on it. I was letting it loose and running through the gears when I accidentally shifted to 2nd instead of 4th from 3rd at 6k RPM. I did it a couple of times when I first got the car, then tossed the stock shifter and went with a Callaway short throw, hasn't happened since.
I suspect it's the pilot bearing, but still want some feedback. You can hear it start at 9 seconds into the video.
