Staring issue - starter? solenoid?
I’ve been suspecting the battery in my C5 was on its last leg for a while, and last night and this morning it was having trouble starting. So I went to O’reilly’s and grabbed a new battery and installed it. When trying to start the car and holding the key all the way to the right it tries to crank but very weakly, same as with the old battery. Sometimes if you hold the key long enough it will start, and sometimes it won’t and you’ll get some smoke come up and a strong metal/burning smell.
Starter? Solenoid?
