Just thought I'd share....I installed Howards Cams ASA grind cam. It is basically a copy of the GM ASA cam. .525 lift 226 intake duration 236 exhaust on 110 lobe center. The cam ended being the same base circle as the stock LS6 cam,and my factory pushrods worked out perfect! I used GM LS2 replacement beehive springs,( natural color woth orange stripe). Love this cam!!!
I re- used the timing chain, oil pump, gaskets, and push rods. What's the problem ? The lower than stock valve lifts, the factory light weight valve train, the cams mild ramp rates, or the good quality gm parts that last 100s of thousands of miles? Why on earth would you replace them if there are the right length?
Be interested in your dyno when you get it done. This cam has always interested me since it is easy on the valve train and seems to make good power. I have read that 1.8 rockers with this cam works well too.

I would think that you would be spinning this motor higher than stock and more frequently, but you are right it is a small cam and you are probably fine. I would have at LEAST put an LS2 chain in there while you had it apart! It sounds great though. Have you had it tuned yet?

I'm going to keep my shift points around 6500 rpm max.......
I'm on tight budget and the chain looked perfect with no slop.
It will need tuning for sure, I will have to pay someone to do that though...... Thanks for the compliment on the sound.
